One of the first BJJ techniques I learned was the spinning arm bar from the mount when someone pushes on your chest.
However, despite practising it a lot, I’ve NEVER been able to pull that arm bar off in training. I found my opponents had too much space and could escape, or I’d lose my balance as they bridged into me. Either way, I’d lose position and the submission.
Then I learned the belly down arm bar, and it fast became one of my favourite attacks from the Mount.
