While it may not look it but the Kimura Trap is a fantastic control position. The reason for this is the Kimura Trap allows you to control your partner’s ability to rotate, yet still allows you to move relatively freely.

There are numerous ways to set up the Kimura Trap, one of my favourites is from a dive roll through my opponent’s guard. This often catches them by surprise and can be very difficult to defend.
